The modern-day expectation for early child care teacher training is that they possess a comprehensive understanding of child development, learning theories, and best practices in early childhood education. This training offered me the opportunity to acquire knowledge of age-appropriate curriculum, effective communication and interaction with children, strategies for promoting social-emotional development, and the ability to create a safe and nurturing learning environment. Additionally, I learnt that early child care teachers are expected to have skills in observation, assessment, and documentation of children's progress, as well as the ability to collaborate with families and other professionals in the field. Professional development and ongoing learning offerd by the Asian College of Teachers is also important components of early child care teacher training, as the field continues to evolve and new research emerges.
